Our original crafts are leather covering, gilding, and embossing on leather to produce Cordoba-style panels, as well as much more contemporary embossing designs.

Covering involves applying a flexible material by gluing it to a surface. We cover boxes, furniture, floors, walls, and other panels of all sizes and shapes with leather or fabric.
Our techniques can be applied to all types of surfaces: Michelin-starred restaurants have covered menus, and some luxury hotels have opted for walls covered with faux books, which we custom-make. Several beautiful Parisian boutiques have stair railings covered by Maison Fey.
In a completely different field, we create exceptional furniture and custom-made display cases for leading jewelers and watchmakers. More recently, we have begun producing bars clad in stone veneer, combining the beauty of stone with the lightness of veneer.
Maison Fey also specializes in covering office leather goods, furniture, and objects in general.
Marking & Gilding on Leather
We use a roulette wheel and a waffle iron to create embossed markings. These are known as tone-on-tone markings, meaning they are colorless. The material is simply "engraved." To create colored or gold markings, a gold or colored film must be inserted between the leather and the tool. The color is then transferred onto the leather.

Embossing
Embossing is a technique used to create raised patterns in paper or other malleable materials. The embossed pattern can then be left plain or painted. To emboss, we use molds on plates known as embossing plates, which we can make to order or use from our existing stock.
We handle every stage of production: embossing, assembly using connectors, hand painting of the background and reliefs, and protective varnish if necessary.
We create panels made of Cordoba leather for walls, ceilings, headboards, chairs, and even floors. This ancient technique can be applied to leather, stone veneer, or even wood veneer.
Maison Fey has around fifty classic and contemporary embossing plates. We can also engrave your design onto a plate if you would like an exclusive model.

Painting on leather
Leather painting is generally done on Cordoba leather panels. If a colored background is desired, the color is applied with a spray gun. If the reliefs need to be painted, this is done by hand with a brush. It is a long and extremely meticulous task.

Restoration of leather items
We restore or recreate identical replicas of leather-covered boxes, armchair cushions, clock or alarm clock cases, the edges and covers of antique books, furniture, etc.
Maison Fey specializes in the restoration of antique objects, the restoration of trunks, and the upholstery of antique furniture in general.
